Really using our new logo ...

At the next Business Network meeting we will be discussing the ways in which the new graphic images can be used to promote our town and district.

We are hoping all businesses and community organisations will embrace this marketing initiative by incorporating the logo and banner in the promotion of their organisations. Come and join this discussion and see examples of how they may be used.

At the launch held at the July Community Market we had two products for sale, these were calico shopping bags ($2) and magnets ($1). Both were embraced enthusiastically by those attending the Market with a number of people buying in bulk, especially the magnets, to include in their Christmas mail - oh so organised!

These products are now also available at some of the retail outlets in Violet Town and will continue to be available at each Community Market.

Another example of the use of the graphics in on the Violet Town Hairdressing windows; take a look and let us know what you think!

The suppliers of these banners have advised that if a number of businesses or services order similar banners for their windows they will be able to provide them at a discounted price. If you are interested please contact Christine Nunn on 0418 106 199 who will help coordinate this.

Access to the graphics and the Style Guide is being made available on the Business Network pages of the Violet Town website.

Help needed to finish works in Cowslip Street

Council Staff and volunteers from the Violet Town Business Network and VTAG have been working hard to up-grade the median in Cowslip Street.

The works so far have included removing plants and weeds, improving the soil structure and paving areas between each planter. Click image

The works so far have included removing plants and weeds, improving the soil structure, repairing and up-grading the watering system, building planter boxes around the liquid ambers and paving areas between each planter.

More work is still to be done and we are calling for your help: there are more planter boxes to be built, and more paving to be laid as well as filling the planter boxes with dianella, a native flax lily which is indigenous to the area, and other ground cover salt bushes and finally mulching each planter box.

If you have some time and would like to assist in making Cowslip Street a street to be proud of and remembered by people passing by (for all the good reasons that is) please contact Jo Beavis on 03 5798 1712 or 03 5798 1427 or Pat Glynn 040 852 0618 or 03 5798 1411.
