Community House news and program
This fortnight some exciting activities are happening in Violet Town.
The 3rd August is the Skate Park Meeting at 7.00pm at the Community House.

On Wednesday the 4th August a new program is starting at the Violet Town Community House at 10.30am. This program titled HERBAL MEDICINE FOR EVERYONE! Is an informal discussion about herbal medicine. Presented by: Jo Sharp-Wagner. A practicing Medical Herbalist and a Registered Division 1 Nurse. In these information session you can come along and discover the safe, gentle, complimentary benefits of herbal medicine. The workshops will run over four weeks and will include What is Herbal Medicine?, Herbal Medicine for the Older Person, Herbal Medicine for Children, Herbs as Food; Food as Medicine. Everyone is welcome.
Also on Wednesday the 4th August is the Violet Town Action Group AGM from 7.30pm at the Community Complex.
On Saturday the 14th August it is once again the Violet Town Community Market and later that day the Youth Music Development Program will be holding a very special fundraiser to help raise money to get the next Kool Skools program up and running. A Pasta, Acoustic Music and Movie Night will be held in the Supper Room and Community House. The menu will feature a range of delicious pasta and sauces and have vegetarian and vegan options available. Cost will be $10 for adults and $ 7.00 for children. Please note this is an alcohol free event. Members of the Youth Music Program will accompany dinner guests.
On Sunday the 15th August the Wood Fired Oven will be lit from 4pm at the Skills Shed in Baird Street . Come along and either bring some food to share or donate some money to help with expenses. There will also be a bon fire and some music, so bring along some instruments if you wish to join in.
The Community House has some new computers to donate to members of the community through our computer recycle program. Please call 5798 1288 if interested.
