Once again a wonderful weekend in Violet Town. Congratulations to all involved with the quilt airing, the market and Euroa Little Theatres Performance at the Parish. What a wonderful effort.
We also had a busy week in Violet Town the week before with the Behind Crimson Eyes Concert in Violet Town, despite the storms it was a fantastic evening with our young locals stepping up to the challenge and putting on an awesome show. Article and pictures in next weeks paper.
This week on Wednesday 17th March the VTCH has an exciting new course starting in Certificate III in Aged Care Work. This course will be held weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays in the Youth and Art Space at the Community House in Violet Town. If you are interested in this nationally recognised course contact 57981288 or come along on Wednesday at 9.30am – 3.30pm.
The Painting Group will be starting up again this Sunday 21st March at 3pm at the youth and art space. There is no charge, just bring along your equipment and join in, chat and be inspired. This Sunday there is also Adult Jam from 5pm at the VTCH and Youth Jam from 3pm.
The Violet Town Skills Shed is running a bicycle repair program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4pm. Drop in or call 57981288 for more information.
The next BoHoGiE Music Session will be held on Friday 26th March at the Boho South Hall from 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to listen, play and have a dance. Cost $3. Great Music, Great fun!
The Australian Sports Commission is offering free Community Coach Training Programs (CCTP) in Violet Town in preparation for Term 3 Active After-school Communities (AASC) programs. The CCTP course prepares participants to coach sports sessions in the AASC program. This program will be held at the Violet Town Community House in April/May 2010 Dates and time for the CCTP will be confirmed once we have received Expressions of Interest from members of the community who wish to participate are requested by 2/4/2010

The AASC program:
- Provides a dynamic and positive opportunity for local sporting clubs and associations to grow membership
- Improves club resources and aids long-term viability
- Creates links between primary school children and sports clubs
- Assists with promotion of your club and helps to attract new junior members
- Provides an opportunity for your club and/or coaches to gain payment
- Training courses can be scheduled at a place and time that suits those interested in becoming community coaches

We are currently finalizing the plans for the Violet Town Torch Festival 'Culture'
A three day celebration of our culture with art, craft, workshops, music, poetry and storytelling.
From April 9th – 11th 2010. The event will feature an Indigenous Welcome, Hip Hop Performance and Workshops, Basket Coiling Workshops, Spindle Spinning, Poetry, Felting, Theatre Performance and Workshop, Digital storytelling, Indigenous Dance, Art Exhibition, Music and Storytelling Festival and much more.
