Churches in Violet Town
The historically main Christian denominations have had and still do have a presence in Violet Town.
St Dunstans Anglican Church in High Street Violet Town was built in 1879 and services have been held there continuously, every Sunday since then.
The first settlers in the district brought their religious beliefs and spiritual needs. The Catholic Church was not slow to respond to the request for spiritual sustenance and visiting priests were sent from the fledgling diocese of Melbourne.
The Uniting Church, located in Tulip St occupies the site of the former Presbyterian Church.
