Violet Town Market Report October 2007
Twas a bit chilly for our October market which is traditionally the first of our big lead up to Christmas markets. Our stallholder numbers were surprisingly down, maybe the small threat of rain could have put off a few or maybe other regional events like the Shepparton Show on the same day could have caused this. The number of patrons attending seemed unaffected.
On the morning of the market it was clear that quite a few of our permanents hadn't let us know that they weren't coming. Please let us know, just a message on the answer machine will do as early as possible, you do run the risk of loosing your site if we need it for another stallholder seeking permanency.
Our market relies on our permanents, an integral part of permanency is letting us know if you aren't coming so you don't have to book each month. Our musician was Peter Barbary and chosen specifically to mesh in with special seniors celebration events provided this month. Thanks to Pam Ellis for organizing this.
As usual our casual stallholders added a bit of zing to our market. Katherine with Uncle John's Licorice has been so often now that she has applied for permanency with her hand made licorice.
We have quite a few people who make timber products coming casually at the moment this includes Shamus who is crafting his own wooden buttons out of small pieces of a variety of scrap timber. Buskers also add that splash of colour and this month we had Christie Sykes doing a human statue performance. That's it for this month. Don't forget to book early if you want a site for the November market. See you at the market
