Call to reduce water usage
Goulburn Valley Water has called on residents of Violet Town and Euroa to reduce their water consumption, as supplies from Seven Creeks are shut off due to low flow levels ie. less than 10Ml per day.
Residents will now be supplied solely from the Waterhouse and Abbinga reservoirs. Waterhouse Reservoir is at 77% capacity (150Ml) and Abbinga at 62% of capacity (384Ml).
G.V. Water is seeking customers assistance to reduce water consumption. Mr. Gleeson said if the situation did not improve then Stage 1 water restrictions will be introduced by early December.
"The current water resource position is extreme, and more severe restrictions may be requires in various towns across our region in the next few months," he said.
"Co-operation by all consumers will, however, ensure that the severity and duration of restrictions is minimised."
