Another busy few weeks are planned in Violet Town.
Life Ball and other activities
Today and every other Tuesday there is Life Ball at the Euroa Show grounds from 9am, and the Walking Group leaves from the Hume Corridor Outreach Health Service at 9am. Womens Group from 10am, an exciting new movement activity Rosen Movement with Elisabeth Long from 1pm 2pm (in the hall), Guitar and fiddle with Paul Wookey from 1pm, and Basic Computers from 1pm 3pm.
On Wednesday there will be Web design from 1pm 3pm, Youth Music Program from 4pm and Line Dancing at 7.30pm. Thursday morning Tai Chi is held at the Hume Corridor Outreach Health Service at 9.30am.
On Friday night there will be the Bohogie Music Club at the Boho Hall from 7pm. Everyone is most welcome to attend, all styles of music welcomed and encouraged. If you would like any further information on the Music club please contact the community house on 03 5798 1288.
Football and Netball Club GST Auction
On Saturday night the Violet Town Football and Netball Club will be holding there annual GST Auction at the Club Rooms and on Sunday 30th July two exciting activities will be taking place firstly National Tree Planting Day in the HREP area (contact Robin Landvogt on 03 5798 1335 for more information) and then the Music Program Fundraiser at Parish Perfumery on Sunday evening (see article in paper or contact 03 5798 1288 for more information).
Youth Drop In and Carpet Bowls
On Monday there will be the Youth Drop In from 3.30pm 5pm and then Carpet Bowls in the Hall from 7.30pm. Drop in to the Community house at anytime during office hours if you would like to help out on the Benchmark project.
The Community House office is open on Monday 1 5pm, Tuesday 10am 5pm and Wednesday 10am 1pm. Refferal and Advice, Computer and Internet Access and Youth Space always available during office hours. If you contact the community house and get the answer machine please leave us a message. Christmas Choir The community house are currently looking for expressions of interest from singers who which to join the Christmas Choir for this years Carols by Candlelight. Rehearsals will be starting in September this year so please get your names in so you can be contacted with all details.
History Bus on the 29th August the community house will be running a bus tour of the district with the aim of collecting stories and memories from senior members of our community for our living history project. Three young film makers will be accompanying us on this trip to film the journey which will then be edited into a short documentary. The bus will leave from the rear of the community complex at 10.30 am and return at 1.30pm. A cut lunch will be provided. Bookings are essential and pick up can be arranged. The Community House is currently redefining and redesigning the Community Web Site. Darryl Parker and Annette Walton have already had preliminary meetings to discuss the potential of the web site and would like to invite members of the community and community groups to a meeting on the 21st August at 6pm at the Community Complex to gain further insight and input. Please RSVP if you which to attend this meeting to 03 5798 1288.
The Community House will be running the next Stone Wall building course with Tony Rhodes in early September when the weather warms up. Please express interest to 5798 1288. The Community House is also looking for expressions of interest to offer another Responsible Service of Alcohol Course. This course will cost $20 and will give you the certificate you need to be able to serve alcohol in the food and hospitality industries. If you have thought about getting your certificate please give us a call.
