Well another busy fortnight in Violet Town with youth week celebrations starting this week aswell as all our regular activities.
Our young local musicians are all rehearsing hard for there debut performance at youth week on the 8th April which is shaping up to being a great event. Last week was the shooting festival for the 15/15 Film Festival. Four great local films were made in Violet Town for the festival which had over 300 entries from 7 continents. These films will be screened in Violet Town in June so keep an eye out for details closer to the date.
On Friday night Hume Corridor Health Service will be holding a Men's Health Screening Night called Pitstop. Starting at 6pm at the Violet Town Football and Netball Club Rooms Pitstop will check your oil pressure, spark plugs and duco, as well as giving you a myriad of advise on other Men's Health Issues. Art Class will be starting up again next Monday with Eve Crocker from 1.30pm - 3.30pm for Adults and then Children's Art Class from 4.00pm - 5.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
A drama workshop will be held on Saturday from 10am until 2pm at the memorial hall for youth.

- Line Dancing - Wednesday night at 7.30pm at the memorial hall.
- Youth Jam - Sunday 2pm
- Youth Drop In Centre - Mondays - 3 - 5, Tuesdays 3-6 and Sundays 2-5pm
The Community House requires some tutors for Body Balance Instructor, Aerobics Instructor and a Dance Teacher. If you are able to teach any of these activities please call 5798 1288.
Stonework with Tony Rhodes has been postponed until Saturday 29th April due to Tony's work commitment's. If you are interested in learning the art or dry and wet stone work, please contact 5798 1288 to express interest. The workshop will be held at the Skills Shed from 10am - 3pm.
We have been offered the opportunity to hold some workshops in silversmithing, mosaic and pritnmaking. If anyone is interested in these activities please contact the community house on 57981288.
We are also currently taking expressions of interest for a Mental Health First Aid course to be run in Violet Town. In this course participants will learn how to deal with Mental health issues, just as first aid is the help given to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, mental health first aid is the initial health given to someone experiencing a mental health problem before professional help is sought. If you are interested in doing this certificate course please contact 57981288.
