National Australia Bank volunteer awards
The Awards recognise the efforts of not-for-profit groups in providing a positive experience for their volunteers.
To be eligible for an Award, a group must be able to demonstrate best practice in volunteering, be not-for-profit, have an ABN, have operated within the Australian community during the past 12 months, and provide a letter of reference from a community leader. Groups must also operate with a majority of volunteers.
The judging criteria is as follows:
- Best practice in volunteering
- Benefits of the organization and its activities to its target group
- Benefits of the organization and its activities to the local community generally
- Degree of innovation demonstrated in volunteering
- Degree of innovation demonstrated in the project or activities
Categories are:
Category 1 – Small to medium organization – not-for-profit organization that has 1-15 full time equivalent paid staff.
Category 2 – Large organization – not-for-profit organization that has 15+ full time equivalent paid staff.
There will be one State Winner and one Runner-Up. Winner will receive $10,000 and Runner-Up $5,000.
National winners are chosen from State winners of both categories. Two National winners receive an additional $10,000 and a trophy.
