Celebrate Youth - Youth Awards

On the 21st of April from 7.00pm a very special event is being held to honour the youth of our shire. The Celebrate Youth – Youth Awards aims to acknowledge those young people who everyday achieve amazing things, things which make us feel really proud of them. This can include sporting and academic achievements but also caring for a grandparent, working in the family business, community service or even being the most reliable boy on the football team.

The awards night will start at 7pm and feature live acoustic music, with Lauren Sessions, Rene Rankin, Gabe Chowanetz, biks, Risk of Electric Shock and Beas Window, as well as short films, a Photographic exhibition, Art displays and a gourmet three course meal. Ella and Jesse Hooper, Tom Long, Rachael Maza and Strathbogie Shire Mayor Greg Carlson will present the awards.

Tickets must be booked for catering purposes on (03) 5798 1288 or with Noel King at the Shire of Strathbogie on (03) 5795 2555. Nominations are still being accepted until Friday 13th at the Violet Town Community House, Cowslip Street Violet Town or via email to vtcommunityhouse@netc.net.au . Buses will be running to Violet Town from Nagambie, Avenel and Euroa on the evening and must be booked with Noel King on (03) 5795 2555.

This is a Drug, Alcohol and Smoke free event proudly presented by Violet Town Community House and Strathbogie Shire, with funding from National Youth Week and FreeZa.

If you are a young person and would like to be involved in any way either as a performer or to help out we would love your involvement so call (03) 5798 1288 to express interest.
