Movement of Breeding Stock
Despite the national standstill due to conclude in Victoria at 1pm on Friday 31 August, Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria (TBV) and DPI insist that no breeding stock be transported on 31 August, 1 September and 2 September 2007.
The Department of Primary Industry (DPI) lends its full support to this action and furthermore the Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Hugh Miller has indicated that DPI will do whatever possible to ensure that this is enforced. more ...

From August 29 people affected by drought will have online access to the Drought Law Forum. The Forum is an innovative service offering free support and information from lawyers located around Australia who are volunteering their time.
The Drought Law Forum has been launched in response to increasing pressures felt by rural communities as a consequence of the drought. Twenty-five legal experts and rural counsellors across rural and regional Australia are volunteering their services as facilitators for the online Forum.
