Movement of Breeding Stock

Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria

Despite the national standstill due to conclude in Victoria at 1pm on Friday 31 August, Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria (TBV) and DPI insist that no breeding stock be transported on 31 August, 1 September and 2 September 2007.

The Department of Primary Industry (DPI) lends its full support to this action and furthermore the Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Hugh Miller has indicated that DPI will do whatever possible to ensure that this is enforced.

Clearly special consideration will be given to anyone that is concerned about the imminent arrival of foals or walk in covers that are already booked, so for these people you can apply for a special permit through the DPI Hotline on 1800 678 779.

Bio-security protocols specifically for breeders.
