Celebrating Cultural Diversity

Are you aware that over 43% of Victoria's population was born overseas? In our Shire alone we have people who were born in New Zealand, France, Africa, Greece, Korea, Yugoslavia, Ireland the Philippines, UK, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, and others who as yet have not stated their place of birth.

On 14 April 2007 the Violet Town Market together with the Strathbogie Shire will celebrate this rich and diverse cultural mix.

"We would like to invite everyone to attend this very special event to celebrate and experience the differences in our community".

"We also would like to extend a special invitation to those people who have chosen to live in our shire from different and far away lands. We would love for you to show off your culture through food, dance stories or any way that you feel the community could learn about your culture".

Please feel free to contact Mary Bourke at community services if you would like to participate in this fun event. Mary can be contacted on (03) 5795 2555 or Free call: 1800 635 956 between 8.30am and 5.00pm.
