Youth of the Strathbogie Shire, prepare to be entertained!
The Shire of Strathbogie Defrosters FReeZA Committee is set to provide a fantastic year of youth entertainment in 2007.
The Committee, which currently has seven members (Hain Kim, Jarrod Perkins, Lucy Dawson, Indi Walton-Guerin, James Ashworth, Sean Mackrell, Clayton Sessions and Joseph Flynn), met on Tuesday 9 January to plan the 2007 youth friendly events, which are drug, alcohol and smoke free.
The Defrosters have plans to introduce some exciting new entertainment at their events this year, as well as the all time favourite Battle of the Bands, with some surprises in store for all of you dedicated FReeZA supporters!
On the agenda again in 2007 is another disco for the Grade 5/6 students of the Shire, after a successful debut event on Friday 1 December 2006 at the Wesley Hall. While numbers were not high, the Committee was greatly encouraged by the response from students who attended and their families. Thank you to those who supported the event, and we hope that the gig will be as well received this year!
The Defrosters FReeZA committee urges 12 to 24 year olds to get out there and support FReeZA events in 2007, with aims to break attendance records!
FReeZA is a fantastic opportunity for young people in our rural community to enjoy social and cultural events in a safe environment, while providing young performers with a chance to showcase their talents.
For any information about FReeZA events, or if you are interested in joining the Defrosters FReeZA Committee, please feel free to contact Charlene Ham (FReeZA worker) on Tuesdays - tel. (03) 5795 2555.
FReeZA is proudly brought to the youth of Strathbogie Shire by the Defrosters FReeZA Committee and Strathbogie Shire Council, and is a Victorian Government initiative.
