What represents Violet Town?

A need to review the 'branding' and 'image' of Violet Town has emerged from information gathered through the StreetLife Business Survey and recent Community Opportunity Workshop

"Many people find the current range of images or messages being presented both within our community and to the outside world about what our community stands for, confusing." says Robena Binks, member of the Violet Town Brand and Image Working Group.

To oversee the development of a brand and image that tells the story of and which is the heart of Violet Town is as a community, Violet Town Action Group has formed a small working group.

Members of this working group are Darryl Parker, Violet Town website administrator, Margaret Healey, Robena Binks, Annette Walton and Christine Nunn StreetLife Coordinator. "If there is anyone else is interested in participating at this level they are very welcome" Christine said.

It is very important that we are able to come up with a symbol and brand that will create associations and expectations about Violet Town and which conveys a consistent message.

We want a message that says "this is how we do things in Violet Town " said Margaret Healey. Not a trendy image and slogan that does not resonate with what Violet Town people see the town and community.

It is therefore of great importance we collect the views, from all age groups, of individual community members, community organisations, sporting groups and clubs, businesses and visitors about what the Violet Town 'brand' and 'identity' is and how this makes Violet Town unique compared with other towns in the region. This information will be used to prepare a brief for GOTAFE Graphics and Marketing students who will develop the brand and images for the community to consider.

"Everyone is invited to complete the survey, available from many businesses in the Violet Town or by contacting one of the Working Group members. We have a short time line, so please get hold of a form and complete it today - it will take five minutes of your time - and will help make a difference to Violet Town progresses" said Darryl.
