Hume Freeway - Fauna Bridge at Longwood

VicRoads will be installing another fauna bridge for wildlife over the Hume Freeway at Longwood on Saturday 21 July 2007. The Hume freeway is scheduled for closure for approximately 8 hours to allow the work to be completed safely.

This will be the second fauna bridge in the shire over the Hume Freeway, and will be located immediately north of the Longwood/Longwood East intersection. The fauna bridge will serve the same function as the one near Violet Town and help to ensure the survival of native fauna, particularly the squirrel glider.

The Hume Freeway traffic will be detoured through the Longwood Township for the duration of the works. The detour route is: Depot Road Down Street Hill Street Avenel Longwood Road

VicRoads will be providing all traffic control and appropriate speed zoning around the detour. Please drive carefully and be aware of this change of traffic movements on 21 July 2007.
