"Clean up Australia Day went very well with about 20 people I know of participating. Some did their bit the day before because of sport commitments and others who were going to be away for the weekend picked up rubbish from the roadsides during the week." said Robbie Rae

"The people who cleaned up the Murchison Road roadside collected three trailer loads and the Harry's Creek Road people collected an overfull trailer which they were going to empty until they realised the tip had shut. They intended to finish off the final leg the following weekend."

"Another group of people cleaned up the town streets. All up, we have collected at present over six trailer loads of rubbish. Disappointing that there were more tyres than ever dumped and wonder if this is due to the expense of dumping them at the tip.

There were also a lot of rum and cola mixed cans, maybe we could suggest to the manufacturers they could put an anti litter sign on their cans."

"A big thank you to everyone who volunteered on the days, they were hot and exhausting but we now have clean roadsides." concluded Robbie
