District Schools plaque unveiling
With around 200 people joining the tour on Sunday 27 May 2007, it will be a big and exciting day for the organisers of the school sites plaque unveiling ceremonies. Some will be arriving from interstate.
Robin Landvogt and her team of enthusiastic researchers and writers have worked tirelessly to organise the event and to record a brief history of each of the schools in book to be available on the day.
The State Schools selected for the project, under the auspices of Violet Town Action Group, are Earlston No. 2850, Upotipotpon South No. 2913, Tamleugh No. 1626 and Koonda No. 2631.
It has been a fun adventure for the research committee, making contact with former students, recalling names and places and gathering a huge collection of photographs and documents.
