Violet Town History Group - November 2007
A number of people have been busy putting together the history, including the building, of the Violet Town swimming pool. Thanks to all who have helped with memories, stories and photos and other memorabilia.
The history is being collated in a booklet that will be launched at the dinner of the pool celebration on 7 December 2007 at the Community Complex. The booklet will be available for a small charge on the night.

The swimming pool history display will be open from 6pm on that evening so you are welcome to come and have a look at your leisure before the dinner.
Darryl Parker is also putting together a collection of Violet Town photos for the community. Darryl is the minder of the history group's scanner and is happy to scan your old photos to add to the collection.
Contact Darryl if you are interested. The hot days may just be the time to sort through that box of the old family treasures and if there is something of Violet Town that you are willing to share we would love to see it!
Thanks go to Leigh Stephens who had some great photos of the pool opening and other Violet Town events in the 1940s and onwards.
They are just wonderful photos. We can copy your photos to a CD for you so you can then easily get more copies made.
