Bottled Gas Rebate - Winter Energy Concession 2007

Strathbogie Shire Council is pleased to announce that applications for the 2007 Non Mains Winter Energy Concession are now open.

To be eligible for the LP Gas rebate a claimant must:

Mayor of Strathbogie Shire Council, Gregory Carlson said, "The Non-Mains Winter Energy concession is designed to assist low-income Victorian households who rely on Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) and/or non mains metered electricity for domestic heating and cooking. It parallels the Winter Energy concession that is available on mains electricity and reticulated gas."

This year applications will be processed directly by the Department of Human Services. Applicants are advised to read the application form carefully regarding the three tier rebate.

The amount of rebate that you are entitled to depends on the total amount of non-mains energy purchased in 2007 and is as follows:

You must attach all your receipts to the 2007 claim form, only one application form may be lodged for the calendar year.

Application forms for the rebate are available from: Strathbogie Shire Council office Euroa, Nagambie Library, Or your gas supplier

Nagambie residents can leave their completed form at the Nagambie Library during opening hours or post directly to the Department of Human Services address on the back of the application form.

The closing date for claiming the 2007 Non-Mains Concession is 31 January 2008. If you require more information please ring 1800 658 521 (toll free).

The Department of Human Services also has applications for: Carted and Non-Mains Water Rebate 2006/07 for filling rainwater tanks, water cartage or other non-mains water costs.
