Lions Club presents Quickshears

Shearing methods are much changed since Tom Roberts' days.
Watch the country's leading shearers battle it out for prize money totalling $5,000 from 7:30 pm on Friday 26 October 2007.
Asked to run Quickshears this year, the Violet Town Lions Club is presenting Quickshears and a charity goods and services auction. They wish to make this an annual event.
Businesses and groups have rallied to the event providing much needed funding and support. Major sponsors included: Violet Town Football and Netball Club; Heiniger Australia; North East Rural; Kemp Shearing; Rankin Transport and proudly supported by the Country Women's Association.

Where: Violet Town Football club rooms and oval
When: commencing at 7:30 pm Friday 26 October 2007
Events: Open ($2,000), Seniors ($1,300), Local ($1,000), Novelty ($500) and Over 60s ($200).
Competition cost: $20 entry fee payable to David Kemp on 042 731 5951.
The prize money is spread overe first, second, third and fourth place getters with no fourth place getter prize money for the Novelty Event. The Novely Event s for three-person teams (at least one female member). The entry fee for this event is $30 per team with details of the event available on the night.
This is a family event for the whole community and all monies raised will be returned directly to the Violet Town community in some way.
