Impact of Climate Change - assistance available for older people

StrathbogieSC150 (6K)

Strathbogie Shire Council's Community Services has been allocated funds this year to assist frail and elderly residents with various water saving projects.

These include water recycling, water saving devices, general water conservation, low emission temperature control measures (shading) etc; related home maintenance and any other assistance deemed to minimise the impact of climate change in the home.

Residents do not need to be receiving HACC (Home & Community Care) services but will need to be assessed for HACC eligibility.

Mary Bourke, Aged Care Program Coordinator at Strathbogie Shire Council said, "We anticipate that this project will begin in September 2008. For further information on how to apply please call me on 03 5795 0001."
