A Street Parade to Celebrate our Violet Town in 2008

Arts Violet Town heralds a street parade for Violet Town to be held on Sunday 13 April and commencing at 2 pm and ending around 3:30 pm. This fun event will include free entertainment, possibly a magician or circus performer, plus interactive entertainment.

The parade involving most groups and organisations of Violet Town will be followed by a free live entertainment from 4-5 pm; gourmet BBQ fundraiser for Community House [fish, chicken, saugages and vego] from 5-6 pm and 'The Bonza Family Bush Dance' at the Violet Town Memorial Hall from 6-8:30 pm [Adults $8, family $20, child accompanied $5, unaccompanied $8].

The last street parade held in Violet Town was a huge success and organisers of this years parade expect it to be even better.

The first street parade [in recent times] was staged in 1993 with one every other year thereafter until 1998.

There will be Street Parade prizes for the Best Entry : $100; Most Original: $50; Funniest: $50; Best Children's: $50; best bike / trike / skateboard / 'wheelie thing': $50.
