Heritage Study Violet Town

Strathbogie Shire Council has commissioned RBA Architects to undertake Stage I of the Strathbogie Shire Heritage Study. The heritage study provides the basis for protecting significant sites in the local planning scheme.

The first key task of Stage I of the Heritage Study - the thematic environmental history - is underway and a draft version of has been prepared. It is available on the Council’s website.

The second key task is the compilation of a database of places or sites of potential heritage significance (these can include buildings, structures, trees and precincts). To assist Council in identifying places of heritage significance, interested members of the public are invited to attend one of the following workshops at which they can meet the consultants. The consultants are particularly keen to learn about sites outside the townships that may not be visible from the road or in obscure locations. The sessions:

Violet Town Community Hall, Cowslip Street, Violet Town at 7pm Tuesday 12 August 2008
