FRRR funding opportunities
Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) Seeds of Renewal Program is a small grants program providing funding to small, rural not-for-profit organisations for projects and activities to aid the growth of their community.
Independently administered by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) and proudly supported by ANZ, the program aims to assist small rural and regional communities working towards a more sustainable future.
This program aims to be simple, with a straight forward and swift application and approval process.
What can be funded?
- Communities that have a population of 15,000 people or less
- Projects with a charitable purpose
- Grants will be made in amounts up to $10,000
- Applications from not-for-profit organisations with an ABN; and
- Priority will be given to applications renewal and sustainability within drought affected communities in an EC (Exceptional Circumstances) declared region
- Creating community well-being
- Supporting volunteer initiatives at a local community level
- Diversifies local economies

FRRR Small Grants for Small Rural Communities Program
A small grants program for small rural Australian communities will offer about $850,000 a year in grants to benefit people in rural and remote communities.
Currently, applications that support the following areas of interest will be given preference:
- Community hardship in drought effected areas
- Retention of young people in Rural and Regional Australia.
- Resettlement of immigrants in rural Australia
- Community Infrastructure

CARING FOR AGEING IN RURAL AUSTRALIA
A small grants program offering $250,000 in grants to assist in caring for the aged in rural Australia. Support from two major philanthropic trusts makes this annual program possible.

Who is eligible for the Caring for Ageing in Rural Australia grants:
- Applications for funding will be accepted from incorporated not for profit organisations;
- The majority of the beneficiaries of grants should be in financial hardship;
- The beneficiaries of grants should be aged people, and especially people suffering with Alzheimer’s disease;
- Requests from individuals or families will not be considered;
- Communities with a population of less than 10,000.
What can be funded:
- Not-for-profit organisations can apply for projects and activities that directly benefit the ageing population in their community;
- Projects that help redress disadvantage caused by remoteness;
- Grants may range from $100 up to $10,000;
From time to time this Program may identify priority areas for support.
How to report:
- A project and financial report is required on completion of the project;
- A progress report may be requested from time to time.
How to Apply:
- Applications can be made to FRRR by post only.
- Applications should include documentation about incorporation, tax status, financial statements and ABN.
- Applications can be accepted at any time. Closing date for is 12 August 2008.
- Applications need to be postmarked no later than 12 August 2008.

FRRR / McEWEN FOUNDATION GRANTS PROGRAM
Grants for the Goulburn Valley District, Victoria
FRRR is funding charitable projects within the Goulburn Valley District, Victoria. In keeping with the wishes of Lady McEwen, organisations which have Deductible Gift Recipient Status (DGR) are eligible to apply for grants of up to $15,000.
Preference is given to: Junior Legacy; Hospitals; Charities; and Accommodation which benefits older people.
What can be funded?
Projects and activities that offer clear benefit for rural communities in Victoria, that contribute to their development in social and community welfare, economic, environmental, health, education or cultural areas, and are for a charitable purpose.
Applications from communities within the Goulburn Valley District, Victoria. Refer attached list of towns. (PLEASE NOTE ALL TOWNS IN OUR SHIRE ARE ELIGIBLE, I HAVE CHECKED LIST.)
Grants will be made in amounts of up to $15,000.
Organisations should have an ABN.
Applications must be from DGR endorsed organisations (YOU NEED TO HAVE APPLIED FOR AND RECEIVED THIS STATUS FROM THE AUSTRALIAN TAX OFFICE)

Applications can be made to FRRR by post only and need to be posted no later than closing date Wednesday 9 July.
