Royal Military College Staff Cadets Patrol Nagambie
In consultation with the Strathbogie Shire Council, The Royal Military College - Duntroon will be conducting military training within the Nagambie Area during the period 12 to 22 May 2008.
The exercise will involve approximately 100 Staff Cadets in their final phase of training to become Officers in the Australian Army. Approximately 35 Support Staff from the College and other Army Units will deliver training to the Cadets. Support Staff will commence moving into the local area from the 6 May 2008.
Event: Staff Cadets from the Royal Military College Duntroon
When: 12 to 22 April 2008
Where: Nagambie, Strathbogie Shire, Victoria
The training will consist of a range of activities including liaison with local authorities, protective and clearance operations, and support of local Police and non-government organisations. These activities are designed to test the cadets in the leadership and decision making challenges they will likely confront following graduation.
Blank ammunition, pyrotechnics, military vehicles and aircraft will be utilised during the activity in accordance with the relevant civil and military legislation. Importantly, all activities will be scripted and closely controlled to avoid impact on community and business activities. A Public Information session is to be held in Nagambie on the evening of the 6 May 2008.
Members of the public are welcome to interact with the Cadets as they go about their training. This will add an element of realism to the range of security tasks being conducted by our Army's future leaders.
