Grants to Voluntary Environment and Heritage Organisations

Purpose: To help community based environment and heritage organisations to value, conserve and protect Australia's natural environment and historic heritage by assisting with their administrative funding.

The purpose of the grant is to assist eligible environment and heritage organisations by contributing to their administrative costs.

Administrative costs may include:

Consideration will also be given to providing funds to cover the cost of small office and non-office capital items such as computers, video cameras, trailers and specialised equipment to assist delivering activities of the organisation where there is significant and long-term public benefit in the purchase.

Costs that cannot be funded include program, project or campaign costs. For example:

Devolved grants are ineligible for funding. An application will be judged to be a devolved grant where an applicant applies for funds to be distributed amongst, or to be used on behalf of, other groups.
