Women Gathering in Dry Times
"A landmark UCLA study suggests friendships between women are special. The shape who we are and who we are yet to be. They soothe our tumultuous inner world, fill the emotional gaps in our marriage, and help us remember who we really are." Newsletter of the Rural Women’s Network number 1, 2007.
Women throughout the Strathbogie, Moira and Shepparton local Government areas are gathering together for fun, friendship, recreation, support (or all of the above!) through Women Gathering. Some women were unable to attend the previous workshops, this is a opportunity for them participate in a mini workshop to provide them with the skills, networks, inspiration and support needed to get a 6 week Women Gathering group up and running in their community.
There are a number of small starter grants available to individual women who: attend the workshop; and develop, or have, an idea or activity to run a 6 week Women Gathering group reflective of their community.
