Emergency Relief available

As a result of the impact of extended drought, the global financial crisis and recent Victorian bushfires, Council have received additional funding from the Federal Government (FAHCSIA) to provide emergency relief assistance to people in financial crisis.

The program is delivered through Community Services for Euroa and surrounds. Arrangements in some other areas of the shire are in place also. Please speak with me for further information on locations serviced.

People can contact Community Services in Euroa and receive dignified and confidential support which encourages self reliance.

Assistance is short term, and community members are linked in with relevant support services for ongoing financial matters, and other supports.

You may know someone in the community who could benefit from this discreet support.

If so, they can either: call into Community Services at 1 Bury Street (no appointment necessary, providing a trained officer is available) or phone Anna to arrange an appointment on 03 5795 0001 or freecall 1800 635 956.

For additional and confidential information about the program, and the support generally provided, you may wish to speak with Community Services staff - Mary Bourke, Annette Ross or myself.

Thanks for your assistance in providing the community with access to this information.
