Benefit Concert and Auction

Due to the recent catastrophic fires this newsletter is to benefit the victims of the Black Saturday bushfires. Many of us wish to do more to help.

This is an appeal to assist our friends and neighbours in Murrindindi Shire, now so much in need. Proceeds will go to the Murrindindi Bushfire Appeal. Murrindindi Shire (the adjacent shire to Strathbogie) has been one of the epicentres of the February fires in Victoria.

Kinglake, Kinglake West, Murrindindi, Marysville, Buxton, Taggerty, Narbethong, Hazeldene, Flowerdale and Glenburn are all in Murrindindi Shire.

More than 100,000 ha or 400 sq miles have been burnt in this area. At the time of writing the Black Range can still be seen smouldering from the heights near Highlands.

The Benefit Concert under the Marquee

On Friday 13 March at 7.30PM David Francey will perform in the Marquee, with a benefit concert to aid the fire appeal. David has contacted us from Canada and expressed his wish to contribute.

All proceeds of the concert will be donated to the Murrindindi Bushfire Appeal.
