No details are yet to hand, however it took three CFA fire trucks, from Violet Town, Balmattum and Euroa, to extinguish the fire that destroyed the cafe and house at the rear.
It is believed that the fire started in the residence at the rear of the cafe and that no one was hurt in the blaze.
The fire sirens and roaring trucks on their way to the scene, reminded many residents of the previous Cowslip St fire. The fire that destroyed the Ellen Frances Hotel on the other side of the street in the early 1990s.
