On-line Customer Action Request System

Strathbogie Shire Council understands that there is often confusion about the best way to submit a complaint/request to Council. To hopefully eliminate any future frustration Strathbogie Shire Council would like to take this opportunity to outline the Customer Action Request System (CARS) and encourage people to use it.

Strathbogie Shire Council has a computer based system (CARS) that is used to record requests and complaints. A person with a concern or a complaint can ring 1800 065 993. The details are then taken and logged into the CARS system. The request is then forwarded by email to the relevant department.

Alternatively, you can submit your request in person at the Euroa Council Office or online at www.strathbogie.vic.gov.au. Residents need to browse the front page index to Council Documents, click on 'forms' and scroll down to the Customer Action Request link. On double-clicking this link, an on-line form will appear for residents to enter the details and the nature of request before submitting.

For example, in the case of a roads complaint, the request would be forwarded through to Strathcon. Once Strathcon receives the request is investigated, it is then prioritized in accordance with the Road Maintenance Plan and maintenance works to rectify the matter are programmed in.

The CARS System works in conjunction with the Maintenance Management System to prioritize the huge amount of work that is required in maintaining the Shire's 2185km's of roads, 152 bridges, around 70 areas involving parks and playgrounds, 4 pools, 3 transfer stations and 1 landfill and approximately 65 municipal buildings throughout the Shire.

Mayor of Strathbogie Shire Council, Howard Myers said, "Via this system Council can be notified of any maintenance or safety problems with shire infrastructure, including roads. The system can also be used to let Council know about waste-related issues like rubbish dumping or compliance matters including suspected fire hazards."

The statistics for financial year to date (ending February 2009) are 632 CARS reported with 99 unresolved at this time.
