Strathbogie Shire Council's Youth Services again facilitated a successful Youth Program during the recent school holidays. Young people from across the shire participated in a variety of day trips to the snow, amusement parks and the movies. On the days when there were no outings or excursions, the Eclipse Café in Euroa was a welcome place for many young people.

On Tuesday 26th June, the FReeZA Committee members took part in the annual Push Summits in Wangaratta, a training day for young people who are interested in staging music and cultural events in their local communities.

Youth Worker at Strathbogie Shire Council, Hannah Sharp said, "The training was full of valuable information, which will help the Defroster's FReeZA Committee provide successful events for their peers in Strathbogie Shire."

After an early start on Wednesday 30th June, 17 young people headed off for a fantastic day in the snow at Mt Buller, where they enjoyed a day of snow play and tobogganing. The hot lunch provided was enjoyed by everyone, especially considering the -3 degree Celsius temperature! Seventeen tired, almost professional tobogganers arrived back in Euroa at 6.00pm.

On Tuesday 6th July a visit to the Shepparton Cinema and Tenpin Bowling were a big hit. The young people enjoyed the new movie 'Grown Ups" then moved on to Tenpin Bowling which is an ever-popular activity during the school holiday program.

The final activity was held on Thursday 8th July when 17 excited young people boarded the bus to take the journey to 'The Zone' an amusement centre in Bendigo.

An adrenalin pass enabled them to participate in go karts, laser tag and in-line skating.
