Full steam ahead for Seniors’ Week – a date for your calendar

Seniors’ Week this year will run from 4th – 11th October and Council is organising some interesting events for both you and your family to enjoy so make sure you mark the date in your diary now.
This year promises to be full of fun – there will be dancing, singing, story telling, poetry, pamper corners and some very special speakers. We will also again include events for children and youth to encourage the whole family to attend.
Returning will be a series of short films that will be shown on one of the days during Seniors’ Week.
Pam Ellis is planning another trip to Puffing Billy. This was a very popular trip last year and we encourage those who missed out last time to get in early this year.
Volunteer Coordinator, Mary Bourke said, “In August/September we will issue a full program of events. Look out for details in the Euroa Gazette and in all community bulletins and let your family, friends and neighbours know about the Seniors Festival 2010.”
Finally, please take a moment to think about who you would like to nominate to attend the Government House Reception, where a lovely morning tea is held for those who have contributed to their communities over the years. This year the event will be on Friday 1st October. Council provides transport in our community bus for those nominated. Council can accept up to 8 nominations.
Please contact Community Services on 5795 0001 if you would like to nominate someone to attend the Reception on the 1st of October. We require your nominations by end of July. We will then contact them to confirm attendance.
