More allied health services for Strathbogie Shire
Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre has been invited to amalgamate two funding streams so more allied health services can be provided by the Hume Corridor Community Health Service.
If the service plan and budget is accepted by the Commonwealth Health Department it will mean that approximately $380,000 will be earmarked for community health services for the Hume Corridor catchment.
Unfortunately, the Strathbogie Shire is much bigger than Hume Corridor catchment..
This means that the majority of citizens within the Strathbogie Shire will receive minimal primary allied health support.
It is the desire of the Bush Nursing Agencies (Nagambie, Euroa and Violet Town) and the Shire of Strathbogie to attract more funding to establish comprehensive primary allied health services within our Shire.
Euroa Health, Nagambie Health Care, Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre and the Shire of Strathbogie have been working together to look at options and identify opportunities for greater health funding.
In the opinion of The Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre Chief Executive Officer, Felipe Rodriguez, the key to success will be cooperation and alliance between the three health organisations and the Shire of Strathbogie with the simple purpose to provide the high quality health services all the citizens of Strathbogie deserve.
