Compost Bin and Worm Farm Subsidy ends 11 June
The Compost Bin and Worm Farm Subsidy offered by the Sustainable Communities Program and Strathbogie Shire Council finishes on June 11. This popular subsidy provides a low cost opportunity to introduce composting and worm farming into your household’s recycling routine. Don’t miss out.
Composting has many benefits – it improves garden soil nutrition, helps your soil retain water, reduces the greenhouse gas methane (which is produced by rotting rubbish in tips) and saves landfill space (and your dollars). Fact – about one third of waste to landfill is organic waste capable of being composted. It is nature’s way of recycling at home!
The participating retailers are: Violet Town Rural and Hardware; WB Hunter Euroa; True Value Hardware Euroa; Saville’s Plumbing and Hardware Euroa
Three Easy Steps:
- Purchase your compost bin or worm farm from a participating retailer
- Pick up a voucher from the participating retailer, municipal library, Council customer service centre or Council website
- Send the stamped voucher with your receipt to the Sustainable Communities Coordinator (postal details on voucher)
Residents are offered up to 50% subsidy on compost bins and worm farms. The rebate is capped at $25 per compost bin, $50 per worm farm and is valid on purchases from 1 May to 11 June or until voucher funds are expended -one compost bin or worm farm per household.
