Market News - July Market

We managed to escape the extreme winds forecast for Victoria and thankfully the market went ahead with most stallholders able to pack up just before the rain came. Due to the inclement weather forecasts in the days leading up to the market we did have some stallholders who were unable to attend. However, we still had most of our regular stallholders as well as a good array of casuals.

As always, our market was full of seasonal produce, value added products, homemade bread and cakes, hot take-away food stalls, creative homemade gifts, jewellery, stationery, wooden toys, musical instruments, freshly cut flowers - both native and exotic - tools, books, old wares, a vast array of plants including locally grown, bare-rooted fruit trees and roses and a variety of other goods and services including hair cuts and knife sharpening. We have three new vintage/2nd hand clothing stalls which seem to be doing a roaring trade. Our coffee stalls were kept busy as were our food stalls. Our freshly squeezed fruit juice stall was also serving hot soup and our regular "winter woollies" stallholders have returned for the winter months.

The local RSL held a wood raffle. The wood raffles continue throughout the winter, run each month by a different local community group.

Stallholder News/Informatione

Thank you to all stallholders who completed the short survey on our current TV advertising. About half of the surveys have been returned and we are hoping the remaining stallholders will return their completed surveys to our market gazebo situated near the music stage at our August market.

Once again we would like to thank our regular stallholders who are working with us on the new quarterly payment plan. We encourage all our regular stallholders to comply with these new arrangements for ease of booking the market and ensured ongoing use of regular sites.

We urge any stallholders who may have concerns or issues they would like to discuss with the committee to contact the market either by phone on 0416 233 584 or at info@market.violettown.org.au

Volunteers

Thank you, as always, to our small band of volunteers. Without your ongoing assistance it would be impossible to host such a successful market.

Particular thanks to the three volunteers who assisted at our July market with the tv advertising survey we are currently undertaking.

Thank you also to our young helper who with the assistance of her parents "finds" and sweeps the site numbers the evening prior to the market and also places the signs on the freeway.

Of course we are always looking for volunteers so if you are interested please phone our market phone on 0416 233 584 or email info@market.violettown.org.au

We invite you to our next market on Saturday 14 August. Hope to see you there!
